Upaya Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Anak dalam Mengikuti Kegiatan Temu Minggu Menggunakan Metode Bermain Peran

Abstrak

The research aimed to see the increase in the Interest of the Children of Primary School Ages in attending the Children Sunday Meeting at the Church-station of Santo Matius, the Parish of Santo Yosef, Bontang. The number of the primary school ages children at the church-station of santo matius at the time of the research was 13. The study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, with the Role Play method, conducting in 3 Cycles of Activities. the children’s interest was seen from 4 indicators: 1) feeling of enjoyment; 2) attractedness; 3) attention; and 4) involvement. Besides interest of the children, the study also looked over the changes in the children’s performance and attitude, observed from 3 main indicators: 1) courage to step forward in front of the class; 2) ability to communicate; and 3) ability to express opinions. The results of the study revealed that the application of the role play method had increased the children’s interest in attending the children sunday meeting session. The increase in the children’s interest was also accompanied with the changes in the children’s performance and attitude in the children sunday meeting session. Therefore, the Sunday Meeting session for the Children at the Chuch-station should be conducted regularly and routinely. For the purpose, provision of the Sunday meeting facilitators deserves serious attention from the churc-station council.
